Safeguards

How your money is held.

If you are the person who has to answer this question to a partner, a board, or a client, you should be able to answer it from one page. No contract, no call.

The short answer

Your balance is held for you as regulated, fully-reserved dollar-backed stablecoins, in a custodial account at a regulated payments partner — not by us, not pooled with our money, and not lent to anyone. It is not a bank deposit and it is not insured. We are the company you deal with; they are the licensed party that holds and moves the funds.

Who holds what

Three parties, and only one of them holds the money.

  1. 01

    You

    The owner of the funds

You open the account in your own name, or in the name of your entity. The balance is yours. Nothing here transfers ownership of your money to us in exchange for a credit on our books.

  2. 02

    StructureFlow LLC

    The company you deal with

We build and run the service, we are responsible for your experience, and we are the company you contact when something is wrong. We do not hold your funds ourselves.

  3. 03

    A regulated payments partner

The party that actually holds the balance

Your balance sits in a custodial account maintained by a regulated payments partner, held for your benefit and separately from our own operating money. They are the licensed party that moves funds; we are the interface you use to instruct them.

What the balance actually is

The part most companies won’t put in writing.

Plenty of companies in this category describe their rails as “proprietary technology” and leave it there. We would rather just tell you.

What the balance is denominated in
Your balance is held as regulated, fully-reserved dollar-backed stablecoins — each one redeemable one-for-one for a US dollar held in reserve by its issuer. That is the instrument. It is not a speculative asset, it is not something whose price we expect to move, and holding it is not an investment position.
Why it is built this way
Because it is what allows money to settle continuously instead of queueing behind a bank calendar. Traditional transfers wait for business hours in two countries and a chain of intermediaries in between. This does not, which is the entire reason a Saturday transfer arrives on Saturday.
What it means for you day to day
Nothing, unless you want it to. You hold dollars, you send dollars, and the recipient gets their own currency. If the mechanism is meaningful to you — and for some of our clients it very much is — every detail is here and independently verifiable. If it is not, you never have to think about it again.

What your balance is not

The things people assume, spelled out.

An account with a balance looks like a bank account. It is worth being explicit about the ways in which it is not one.

Not a bank deposit
StructureFlow LLC is a financial technology company, not a bank. It does not take deposits. Balances held in connection with your account are not bank deposits.
Not insured
Your balance is not a bank deposit. It is not insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, the Securities Investor Protection Corporation, or any other government agency.
Not lent out
We do not lend your balance to anyone, we do not invest it, and we do not use it as working capital to run the company.
Not investment advice
StructureFlow LLC is a separate company from Structure Wealth Partners LLC, a state-registered investment advisor. StructureFlow does not provide investment, tax, or legal advice.
